EOFY 2026 Solar Deals: End of Financial Year Offers Before 30 June
Lock in solar panel, battery storage and inverter pricing before the end of financial year. The $20,000 instant asset write-off for businesses expires on 30 June, and NSW homeowners can access zero-interest financing through the Home Energy Saver loan.
What EOFY solar deals are available before 30 June 2026?
Two government-backed incentives make June 2026 one of the strongest buying windows for solar in recent years. The federal $20,000 instant asset write-off for small businesses expires on 30 June 2026, and the NSW Home Energy Saver program is now offering zero-interest loans of up to $15,000 for residential solar and battery installations.
These 2 incentives sit on top of the ongoing federal STC rebate, which reduces the upfront cost of every qualifying solar installation based on system size and location. Together, they create a window where both businesses and homeowners can reduce the cost of going solar by thousands of dollars before the financial year closes.
Solar Galaxy is accepting EOFY bookings for installations across Sydney, Newcastle, Wollongong and regional NSW. Request a quote to confirm pricing and availability before 30 June.
How does the instant asset write-off apply to solar before 1 July?
Businesses with an aggregated turnover under $10 million can immediately deduct the full cost of eligible assets up to $20,000 each under the instant asset write-off. Solar panels, battery storage systems and inverters each qualify as separate assets, which means a business can claim multiple deductions in the same financial year.
The $20,000 threshold applies per asset, not per business. A 10kW commercial solar system, a 10kWh battery and a hybrid inverter can each be claimed separately if each individual asset costs less than $20,000. The asset must be installed and ready for use by 30 June 2026 to qualify for this financial year.
After 30 June 2026, the threshold reverts to $1,000, which removes the ability to claim most solar equipment as an immediate deduction. For a full breakdown of how the write-off applies to solar installations, see instant asset write-off for solar.

Which EOFY incentive applies to your property?
Business Owners
Instant asset write-off: deduct up to $20,000 per asset before 30 June 2026. Applies to commercial solar systems, batteries and inverters for businesses with turnover under $10 million. Each component can be claimed as a separate asset. The threshold drops to $1,000 on 1 July, so installation must be completed this financial year.
NSW Homeowners
NSW Home Energy Saver: zero-interest loan of up to $15,000 for solar and battery upgrades. Available to NSW owner-occupiers and landlords with household income under $210,000. Plus up to $4,000 discount for low-income households. No upfront cost, repaid over up to 10 years. See the full details on the NSW Home Energy Saver Loan page.
What can you claim or finance this EOFY?
Solar Panel Systems
Residential and commercial installations using CEC-approved panels and inverters. Business owners can claim the instant asset write-off. NSW homeowners can finance through the Home Energy Saver loan.
Battery Storage
Battery systems from brands like Sungrow, Tesla and Fox ESS. Batteries qualify as a separate asset under the write-off, and are a qualifying upgrade under the NSW loan program.
Inverter Upgrades
Solar inverters and hybrid inverters qualify as individual assets under the write-off. An inverter upgrade can extend the life of an existing solar system and unlock battery compatibility for future storage.
Why is EOFY the best time to buy solar in Australia?
Three factors converge at the end of financial year that make June the strongest buying window for solar. First, the instant asset write-off deadline creates urgency for business purchases, and manufacturers respond with stock clearance pricing to move inventory before 30 June. Second, the federal STC rebate decreases each calendar year as the deeming period under the Small-scale Renewable Energy Scheme shortens, so locking in a system now secures a higher rebate value than waiting until next financial year.
Third, installer capacity is typically at its highest during Q2 (April to June) before the seasonal slowdown in July and August. This means shorter wait times between signing and installation, which matters when the asset needs to be installed and ready for use by 30 June to qualify for the write-off.
For residential buyers in NSW, the Home Energy Saver loan removes the upfront cost barrier entirely. Combined with the STC rebate applied at point of sale, a 6.6kW solar system can be installed with zero upfront payment and repayments starting from around $50 to $70 per month.

FAQs About EOFY Solar Deals
The $20,000 threshold expires on 30 June 2026. From 1 July 2026, the instant asset write-off threshold reverts to $1,000, which means most solar equipment will no longer qualify for an immediate deduction. The asset must be installed and ready for use by 30 June to be claimed in the 2025-26 financial year.
Yes. Solar panels, battery storage and inverters each qualify as separate depreciating assets under the instant asset write-off, provided each individual asset costs less than $20,000. This means a business can claim multiple deductions across a single solar and battery installation.
Yes. The NSW Home Energy Saver zero-interest loan is not tied to the financial year calendar. NSW homeowners can apply at any time while the program is active. However, combining the loan with the STC rebate during EOFY secures the strongest overall value, since STC values decrease each year. See the full program details on the NSW Home Energy Saver Loan page.
Most commercial solar systems between 6.6kW and 15kW fall within the $20,000 per-asset threshold after the STC rebate is applied. Larger systems can still qualify if structured as multiple separate assets. Solar Galaxy can advise on how to structure your purchase to maximise the write-off. Contact us for a system recommendation based on your business.
Yes. The STC rebate and the instant asset write-off are completely independent. The STC rebate reduces the purchase price at point of sale, while the write-off is a tax deduction claimed through your business tax return. Both can apply to the same installation. The STC rebate value is based on system size, location and the current certificate price.
