GUARANTEE:

In order for us to honour our 10-year workmanship warranty, you must have your system checked and serviced every 24 months. This includes professional cleaning of the solar panels. You’ll need to keep a record of all servicing to support any workmanship warranty claim.

Solar Galaxy Terms and Conditions

This agreement starts when you accept our offer outlined in this quote—either verbally, via email, or by sending back the signed quote through post or email.

You warrant that you:

  • a) Are at least 18 years of age;
  • b) Are either a registered property owner, or
  • c) Have been authorized by all registered owners to enter into this agreement;
  • d) Have read, accepted, and acknowledged the terms of this agreement.

Payment:

  • a) Payments can be made via cash, bank cheque, debit/credit card (2.5% surcharge applies), or direct deposit.
  • b) A deposit must be paid in full when you accept the offer.
  • c) You must pay Solar Galaxy the remaining balance upon delivery of the system. View more
  • d) If payment is not completed on installation day, we reserve the right to pursue legal action, including admin fees, legal costs, and penalty interest. Delays caused by metering updates, DNSP adjustments, or inverter Wi-Fi issues are not valid reasons to withhold payment.

STC Govt. Rebate

  • 1 kW of solar panels produces on average:
    • 4–4.5 kWh on North/West-facing roofs
    • 3–3.5 kWh on East-facing roofs
    • 2–2.5 kWh on South-facing roofs
  • Shading can negatively impact generation. Future structures or tree growth may reduce efficiency and ROI.
  • Typical payback period is 2–6 years, depending on generation, usage, and electricity rates.
  • Export limitations may be applied by your DNSP, which can result in additional costs.
  • Feed-in tariff rates vary by electricity retailer and can range from 0c/kWh to 12c/kWh. Please contact your retailer for details.
  • Effective from 1st April 2022.

A house should have the following features:

Single-storey house, pitched roof, and an up-to-date meter box that meets the following specifications:

  • Fibre fire-proof backboard
  • Metal casing (not wood or chipboard)
  • No loose wires; all should be neatly tucked
  • No old ceramic switches—only circuit breaker switches
  • Enough space for installing an isolation switch
  • Compliance with ‘Australian Standard AS-6002-1999 Domestic Electric Meter Enclosure’
  • Connection DB/MSB should comply with DNSP Standards, AS3000, and AS61439
  • No switchboard upgrades are included in our cost

The property should be in the metro area of the respective city. Metro is defined as follows:

  • QLD: 80 km from our Brisbane HQ at Brisbane.
  • VIC: 80 km from the Melbourne office at Melbourne.
  • TAS: 80 km from the Hobart office at Hobart.
  • WA: 80 km from the Perth office at Perth.
  • NSW: 80 km from the Sydney office at Sydney.
  • SA: 80 km from the Adelaide office at Adelaide.

Install address must:

  • Have clear, unhindered vehicle access for our installers.
  • Have a completed home, not under construction, with wiring/power supply complying with current electrical standards.
  • Have a suitable location for the inverter. If the location is exposed or open, a weatherproof cover may be required and will be an extra cost.
  • The advertised price is valid for tin roofs and single-storey houses only. Extra charges apply for tile/flat/Klip-lok or multi-storey properties.
  • The advertised price is applicable if the solar system purchased is eligible under the Small-scale Renewable Energy Scheme and you agree to assign the STCs to Solar Galaxy Pty Ltd. Learn more.
  • The price advertised is not applicable if you require finance.
  • The goods remain Solar Galaxy’s property until paid in full. Until then, you are the custodian of the goods.

The following points must also be adhered to:

  • You must keep the goods in your possession and in good condition.
  • Store the goods in a suitable, clearly identifiable location as Solar Galaxy’s property.
  • Notify Solar Galaxy immediately if the goods’ location changes.
  • You may not sell, assign, pledge, or place any encumbrance on the goods.
  • If sold while unpaid, sale proceeds are owed to Solar Galaxy immediately.

If you do not pay Solar Galaxy the purchase price on installation day:

  • a) Solar Galaxy may require you to return the goods at your cost.
  • b) A legal case may be filed for the outstanding amount, legal costs, and penalty interest.

Solar Galaxy will provide 8 hours’ notice for goods return. If not returned within 48 hours, we may enter your premises to retrieve them. Changes to signed quotes incur a $20 admin charge and a new quote will be issued.

Price Beat Guarantee Conditions:

  • Must be a formal written quote and not verbal or just an email confirmation.
  • Cannot be a liquidation sale price.
  • Can only be redeemed once per customer.
  • Only valid in metro areas (as defined above).
  • Must be for identical products with the same model number and specifications.
  • Applies only to currently stocked items.
  • Not valid on trade prices or commercial quantities.
  • Website prices vary by postcode. Ensure correct postcode is entered.

Additional Terms:

  • We only provide after-sales installation support to customers who purchased from Solar Galaxy. Learn more.
  • All necessary info must be provided by the homeowner or account holder. Incorrect or incomplete info may cause delays.
  • We are not liable for damage due to fire, flood, storms, or other natural events.
  • No guarantees are given on daily solar output. Production varies based on weather, roof direction, shading, and more.
  • If extra costs arise due to customer-provided incorrect info, the customer must cover those costs.
  • It is the customer’s responsibility to get permits/approvals (e.g. council, strata, landlord).

Other Info:

  • STC Value: Subject to change.
  • Currency: All pricing is in Australian dollars.
  • Net Meter: Grid (NET) meter installation is done by your electricity retailer and not included in our quote.

MAKING A COMPLAINT:

If you have a complaint relating to the System, its installation or this agreement generally, you can make a complaint to us by:

(a) calling us on our telephone number as set out in the Quote; or

(b) giving us written notice of this, by post or email.

REFUNDS:

This agreement ends for any of the following reasons before we install a system at your premises and we will refund all the money you have paid under this agreement.

a) within 10 days after accepting this agreement

b) if the price increase notice is given and you chose to end the agreement rather than accepts the price increase; and

c) if the distributor refuses the grid connection application for the proposed system. An admin fee of $200 will apply if you cancel the agreement in any of the above cases after 10 days cooling off period.

REFUNDS:

This agreement ends for any of the following reasons before we install a system at your premises and we will refund all the money you have paid under this agreement.

a) within 10 days after accepting this agreement

b) if the price increase notice is given and you chose to end the agreement rather than accepts the price increase; and

c) if the distributor refuses the grid connection application for the proposed system. An admin fee of $200 will apply if you cancel the agreement in any of the above cases after 10 days cooling off period.

MAKING A COMPLAINT:

If you have a complaint relating to the System, its installation or this agreement generally, you can make a complaint to us by:

(a) calling us on our telephone number as set out in the Quote; or

(b) giving us written notice of this, by post or email.

PRICE CHANGES:

If it is reasonable to do so and are not prohibited by law from doing so; In effect of the price increase of the system or any part of it, the installation of the system, STC value increase or decrease and any item mentioned in this quote, Solar Galaxy will notify to you of any additional costs on the day of installation, prior to work commencing over the phone or in writing.

If you provide consent over the phone or in writing, we will proceed with work and send you a revised invoice on the same day for payment. Solar Galaxy may refund a portion of your deposit, after subtracting Admin, grid application and site set up costs, at its own discretion.

If you wish to accept the quote, then you will need to sign the new quote and scan/email it back to us before we can organise your installation.

GRID CONNECTION APPROVAL:

Solar Galaxy will apply for grid connection approval on your behalf as soon as we receive required information from you. This agreement is subject to grid connection approval being granted. Installation target day may change due to delays in installation.

SITE ACCESS:

The Purchaser grants to Solar Galaxy permission, sufficient access or possession of the Site as is necessary to complete site inspections, delivery and the installation of the goods. Any failure to provide access or impede that access, such that the installation works cannot be conducted by Solar Galaxy Australia may result in a change in the Price.

BUILDING DEFECTS:

A) You warrant that the building or location at the Installation Address is safe, free from defects including asbestos-free and fit for the purpose of installing the System.

B) You acknowledge that Solar Galaxy is not responsible for any damage to the System or your building howsoever so caused as a consequence of a defect or deficiency in your building or part thereof.

C) Solar Galaxy is not responsible or liable for diminished or inadequate performance or installation if your building contains brittle roof tiles, oxidized metal roof or meter boxes or poor roof supports.

D) You must fix all such defects before Solar Galaxy arranges for the installation of the System.

We will try to install your system within 8 weeks of acceptance, unless there are delays by DNSP, Acts of God, major stock issues, busy periods or things beyond our control. Any cancellations requested by the customer due to delay in installation will incur a cancellation admin fees of $200.

LIABILITIES and RISK:

Solar Galaxy accepts no responsibility for insurance or insurance risk of the solar system upon installation. It is your responsibility to ensure that your property insurance adequately covers your Solar PV System.

You acknowledge Solar Galaxy accepts no liability or responsibility for your Feed-in-Tariff (FiT), as administered by the relevant Government body.

Solar Galaxy accepts no responsibility for any damage or loss caused to your property by the installer which has not been caused by the installer’s negligence. All Solar Galaxy installers are contractors who are required by Solar Galaxy & the relevant legislation’s to have appropriate third party insurance including damage insurance. Solar Galaxy will work with you & the installer to rectify any damage caused to your property as a result of installer’s negligence.

You acknowledge that Solar Galaxy will not be responsible for any damage caused to old & brittle roofing tiles that may be cracked or damaged during installation.

Solar Galaxy accepts no responsibility or liability for additional costs or delays in relation to your need to obtain an upgrade of your meter box, sub-board, or the installation of a new meter; the removal & handling of asbestos at your property in relation to the installation of the Solar PV System; or the installation of timers, contactors, switches, or other wiring & work in relation to Electric Hot Water, Slab Heating, Climate Saver, or Off Peak meters.

Solar Galaxy accepts no responsibility or liability for delays in installation if any information provided by the customer is incorrect.

WARRANTY:

Any service related to solar products depends on warranty provided by Solar Galaxy’s product supplier. Solar Galaxy does not provide any warranty other than that provided by the manufacturer.

a.The Solar PV System comes with up to 10 Years Installation and Workmanship Warranty. from Solar Galaxy in conjunction with the Manufacturer’s Warranty. A Solar PV System requires servicing every two years by a licenced Solar Installer. Solar Galaxy does not provide warranty on monitoring systems which may come with the inverter.

Residential

Workmanship warranty for residential installations is 10 years in total, however the client must get their roof checked by an accredited installer one year after the initial installation to be eligible for the next 9 years of workmanship warranty. They should also be getting their roofing and system maintained and cleaned every two years.

Commercial

Workmanship warranty for commercial installs is 5 years in total in line with Australian standards.

FINANCE

Financing is not available on advertised or promotional specials. Terms & Conditions for Repayment or Finance Options, including charges or interest, will be provided in full by the relevant company or entity prior to the customer entering into any such agreement.

TERMINATION:

Solar Galaxy may choose to terminate this agreement & your installation if you do not abide by these Terms & Conditions or if STC prices fall considerably or supplier’s product prices increase & Solar Galaxy is unable to proceed with the installation as per this agreement; in which case the deposit will be refunded minus Admin charge of $200.

You understand that under Australian Consumer Law & the relevant legislation you are entitled to a cooling-off period of ten (10) working days, where applicable. A Cancellation Request must be received by Solar Galaxy in writing via email, fax, or post within this period.

If a Cancellation Request is received in this time, you may be eligible for a refund of your deposit less any administration charges or costs incurred during that time such as applications or work requests. Termination after the ten (10) days may result in the loss of the full deposit paid. Furthermore, as we normally procure the required materials within two weeks, or fourteen (14) days, of receiving a signed copy of this agreement, the customer may be required to pay material costs if the job is cancelled after this period.

If we have to reschedule the installation on the day of install due to non presence of the customer on the day at the property unless previously agreed in writing, then it will require a reschedule fees as per the installers cancellation rates agreed with us in his contract.

If the installation has to be cancelled on the day of installation due to incorrect or insufficient information provided by the customer about the property or the meter, then the customer will have to pay cancellation fees of the installer. If the installation cannot go ahead due to incorrect information provided by customer at the time of sale, then customer’s full deposit amount will be retained by Solar Galaxy and they will not be eligible for any refunds.
