If you’re thinking about installing solar panels, the first thing to consider is where you’re going to install them. If you use more energy in the morning then it is recommended to install them on the east as it gets the morning sun. If you use more energy in the afternoon then it is recommended to install them on the west as that gets afternoon sun. You generally don’t need any special permission to install solar on your property unless you live in a heritage listed area, in that case you will need to consult your local council.
